Dr. Larry Brilliant holds an honorary doctorate from the University of San Francisco. In his current role as chairman of the Skoll Global Threats Fund and senior adviser to eBay co-founder Jeff Skoll, Dr. Brilliant tackles the world's five most pressing problems: pandemics, global warming, the Middle East, water and nuclear proliferation.

Prior, he served as the founding Executive Director of Google.org, during which time he was awarded the TED Prize for his One Wish to Change the World - "To build a powerful new early warning system to protect our world from some of its worst nightmares." In the 1970s, Dr. Brilliant played a key role in the eradication of smallpox in India. He went on to found the Seva Foundation, which has restored sight to more than 3.5 million blind people in over 20 countries. His storied and awe-inspiring life elegantly demonstrates how a single person can change the world.
